Alt-pop’s rising star Darla Jade has just released her new track 'Slow Motion', fresh off the back of her Radio One hit ‘Ghost in Me’.
Speaking to Manchester-Music exclusively, she described the up-coming track as being ‘all about the struggle of never feeling like I’m living in the moment’ and coming to terms with the thought of having ‘lost a year’ to the pandemic - which she aims to reconcile by learning to live in the present.
Darla, who pre-pandemic busked and performed covers in Manchester, amongst other gig hotspots, told us she can't wait to perform again, having not ‘really done that many gigs with my original music’.
Despite this relative inexperience, she has deservedly seen her hard work rewarded in the past couple of years, rising through the musical ranks, collaborating with such dance heavyweights as Nico De Andrea and Gorgon City, and having her tracks played out by DJs both home and abroad.
With Darla’s number one dream being to play major festivals like Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Coachella - it's hard to see how she wouldn’t hit these heights, given her current trajectory.
